AVG Firewall Blocks Printing Jobs
The 2011 version of AVG's internet security suite increases enhanced social-networking security that automatically checks links exchanged with Facebook; MySpace; YouTube; etc. in real time. It comes with Smart scanning, System resource management, AVG Link Scanner, PC Analyser and there are even more. It even checks your network – LAN or WAN. However, if it blocks your printing job, follow the below tutorial to allow AVG to recognise your Printing Job/IP Address.
- Right Click AVG Icon on the Task Bar (Button Right)
- Click Open AVG User Interface.
- Click on “Tools” Menu; then “Firewall Settings….”
- On the left hand pane menu, Click on “Profiles” item
- Choose your firewall “Profile” by clicking on the “+” sign of either “Directly Connected to the Internet OR Computer Within Domain OR Small Home or Office Network”
- Click "Defined networks."
- Locate "IP addresses whitelist" in the list of networks and double-click on it.
- Click “Add IP” button.
- Choose either “IP Address range OR IP address/mask OR One IP address” and type in the necessary values that will include your Printer IP Address.
- Click on “OK” all the way through every open dialogue boxes.
- Establish a Print Job as normal. It should work OK

- Right Click AVG Internet Security Icon on the Task bar.
- Point your mouse to Firewall; then Firewall Profiles
- Click on “Small home or Office Network” OR Depending on what you choose in Step No.5 above
